The US Housing A Pro-Terror Element

The US has always displayed a double-edged policy while taking on terror. Even after a much-touted and hyped change in guard at the top, this tendency has not been polished off. It is right now housing a person who, as a government head of Pakistan, had given full freedom to a nuclear scientist of that country, who has confessed of helping rogue states with smuggled nuclear technology. Pervez Musharraf had given all support to Taliban in his capacity as a military ruler of his country. He supported the terrorists even when they conspired against India and hijacked Indian Airlines plane. He was the person who inflicted a war on India that caused death to innumerable unclaimed Pakistani army personnel. He has been pushed out of the presidency that he had once usurped after toppling a democratically elected government of former Pakistani premier Nawaz Sharief. He is being tried in his own country for swindling huge amount of money. The present President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and his political outfit blames Musharraf for the killing of former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto.

This man, known for his war-mongering attitude against India and for widely publicised anti-democratic sentiments, is wagging his tongue well inside the US. He has urged the US to pressurise India so that it starts talking with Pakistan. The question is, why is the US maintaining its open double standards even after suffering so much threat from the genre of people Musharraf stands for? Has the US forgotten that Musharraf was the person who allowed the former Pakistani cricket player Javed Miandad to give his son in marriage to the international terrorist and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim? Musharraf even wanted to attend the wedding party thrown up by the gangster!!

Now, if the US can allow this old offender and a blighter like Musharraf to land upon that ‘great’ country then there can be no reason why it should not allow the Chief Minister of Gujarat (INDIA) Mr. Narendra Modi to visit the US. Mr. Modi has said that he no longer wants or needs to go to that country as US industrialists are themselves queuing up in Gujarat before his government to get clearances for setting up business in Gujarat. He has been thrice elected to lead his state democratically. He has proved that he had no role in any sort of communal violence inside India. He has never worked to support terror in any form. He has never inflicted war on a nation.

Indeed, to put the records right at this moment, the Obama administration should reverse the wrong decision of not allowing Modi a US visa and nurturing Musharraf on its soil. This could, indeed, go a long distance in giving the face of the US a better makeover. The great nation deserves it!!

Why would US not allow a person like Musharraf or any other politician, who has been its putty, to enjoy the fruit of his/her services to the US?

I am sure that when a person has got so many discomforting credits to his account, a country like the US should keep itself at some distance from him. Indeed, Karim, do you think that Musharraf has done any good to his nation either as an army chief or as its military ruler?

Sonu, a country like the US will never distance itself from its ’allies’. Try to understand this point. It’s that simple!

I have never, at any point of time, dreamt of cornering Pakistan (except after the Mumbai carnage. I am against a person who is responsible for so many ills the world is facing today. However, if pressed hard, there is ample proof to believe that the US can dissociate itself from Pakistan which has not proved itself a worthy ally for it.

i think US keeping double standards is not something that we haven’t seen before. i guess one has to pay the price to remain as super power.

The white people across the world have thrived on double standards... US, UK, France, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish... all are the same... double standards...
We brown people haven’t understood this nuance and still continue to expect them to be fair like their skin color... who is stupid?

I am not sure what are you reading these days. Why take off like that after all whites? Logic says that generalization can never hope to be accurate. You have never seen a white crow and still you can not say that all crows are black. Also, let me remind you that the US right now is governed by its first black president.
